The Cincinnati Bengals have great news for their fans.
Following months of speculation and back and forth, it seems like Tee Higgins has finally made up his mind.
According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Higgins is ready to sign his franchise tender once and for all.
With #Bengals WR Tee Higgins signing his franchise tag today, it means he’ll show up for training camp with his teammates. He’s open to an extension off the tag, and we shall see if it happens. But he’s now locked in and under contract. pic.twitter.com/86mhZSCqtp

That means that he’s going to show up for training camp and train with his teammates.
Rapoport added that Higgins was willing to sign a contract extension off the franchise tag, and he’s now locked in for at least a season.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the fans took to social media to react to this news.

The Bengals lost Tyler Boyd in free agency, and he decided to join former offensive coordinator Brian Callahan on the Tennessee Titans.
They could not afford to lose Higgins as well, which is why they didn’t honor his trade request from earlier in the offseason.
According to multiple reports, contract extension talks had stalled, and it didn’t seem like the parties were even close to getting a new deal done.
Still, it also seems like Higgins had little to no leverage in these negotiations, either.
The franchise tag allows the players to make a lot of money off a single season, but it doesn’t give them any sort of stability or certainty for the future.
Now, he’s going to have to prove that he’s one of the most underrated players in the game and secure a long-term deal, whether it’s with the Bengals or someone else.
