The St. Louis Cardinals are coming off a highly disappointing season in which they won just 71 games.
It was Oli Marmol’s second season as manager.
Since he is a member of the Cardinals since being drafted in 2007, the team is apparently giving him a longer look as their skipper.
Still, the Cards are also interested in bringing in a franchise legend to join the coaching staff: Yadier Molina.
Molina wants to be an MLB manager, but he understands he might not get a chance to do that immediately.
With that being the case, there appears to be mutual interest in joining the organization as a coach.
“Both the Cardinals and Yadier Molina have expressed interest in having Yadi join the team’s coaching staff in an everyday position, per @katiejwoo,” Talkin’ Baseball tweeted.
It would be an excellent addition to a team that has a lot of room to improve considering its 2023 performance.
Fans, of course, showed their happiness to see Molina, a true legend on the field and a Cardinal for life as a player, linked with the team.

Molina played baseball at the highest level from 2004 to 2022.
He knows how to handle pitchers, he knows what it takes to win – the Cardinals won two World Series with him behind the plate – and he has the experience to deal with any situation on and off the field.

Cardinals fans are ready for one of their idols from the 2000s and 2010s to start his career as a coach and perhaps manager later down the road.
