One of the more intriguing NFL storylines this offseason was what the Jets were going to do about Zach Wilson.
Well, just days before the NFL Draft kicks off in Detroit, the league got it’s answer.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Jets have traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
The deal includes a late-round pick swap, as well as both teams agreeing to pay his $5.5 million salary.
Former #Jets starting QB and No. 2 pick Zach Wilson is on the move. Sources say he’s being traded to the #Broncos, hoping for a fresh start.

Of course, most fans are either somewhat unhappy with this trade or are poking fun at Denver for making this move.

Brock Osweiler, Trevor Siemian, Drew Lock, (plus the ones I’m forgetting). And now Zach Wilson. The Broncos have a rich history of taking busts, I see.

Fans are going off of what Wilson did with the Jets.
For reference, he threw 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions in three seasons en route to leading New York to a 12-21 record.
He never had a single season with a QBR over 40 either.
But sometimes, all a player needs is a change of scenery to really get their career going.
Quarterbacks like Brett Favre, Steve Young, Matt Hasselbeck, and Matt Schaub all got traded early in their careers, and it was the best thing that ever happened to them.
Perhaps Sean Payton has an idea on how to get the best out of Wilson.
Remember, the Super Bowl-winning head coach is a brilliant and seasoned offensive mind.
So, perhaps this ends up being a great trade for Wilson and the Broncos.
Casual fans will jump to conclusions and poke fun at the trade, but this could very well work out.
