All the signs are pointing to Bill Belichick becoming the next head coach of the Atlanta Falcons after he parted ways with the New England Patriots following a wildly successful 24-year career.
With that, though, comes questions about how Belichick will work with Falcons owner Arthur Blank.
Belichick had a lot of pull in the Patriots organization and owner Robert Kraft because of Belichick’s football acumen and early success with the team, but it’s unclear if that structure will carry over to the Falcons if Belichick is their next head coach.
Former Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff, who also worked for the Patriots for several years with Belichick, doesn’t think either of his two former bosses will have trouble working together in Atlanta.
“A lot of people think, ‘Well, would [Blank] really gel with Bill, with all of Bill’s strong opinions about how he wants to come in?’ 100 percent I think they will,” Dimitroff said on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams” show Thursday. “… I’ve worked for both men. I know both men have unbelievable knowledge and insight that they bring to the table from where they’re coming.”

Belichick would inherit a team with only flaws at quarterback and a well-rounded defense.
So, depending on how much control Blank and Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot cede to a new head coach, Belichick could quickly turn this team around in a very winnable division.
The Falcons have stars at wide receiver (Drake London), running back (Bijan Robinson), and tight end (Kyle Pitts) with a couple of solid players on defense as well.
