The New England Patriots are one of the most successful franchises in major sports history, and a lot of that has to do with Bill Belichick’s ways.
Nonetheless, the veteran HC has been in a little over his head this season, with the Patriots getting outworked, outcoached, and outplayed more often than not.
That happened again during the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
And according to former NFL player Ted Johnson, Belichick simply quit on his team by taking power away from the players, not taking risks, not trying to show any sort of sign of a sense of urgency, and flat-out tanking.
Talking on NBC Sports Boston, Johnson stated that Belichick has already taken that uber-conservative approach several times in the past, especially this season.
“I want to make this clear, I am saying Belichick quit on his team.”

He believes that Belichick isn’t trying to win football games; he’s just trying to orchestrate close losses so he doesn’t keep getting blown out.
Needless to say, those are some serious accusations against one of the most respected coaches in NFL history.
There have been a lot of rumors and reports about Robert Kraft being ready to move on from Belichick at the end of the campaign.
But even if that’s the case, and regardless of his struggles to get back to the mountaintop without Tom Brady leading the way, there should be no shortage of teams interested in his services if that ends up being the case, and that speaks volumes of his greatness and everything he’s accomplished during his days in the league.
