The Las Vegas Raiders have recently fired their head coach and GM.
For the moment, it appears that they are sticking with an interim head coach while the organization waits to conduct offseason interviews.
Several analysts have discussed early front-runners for this job, including Jim Harbaugh and Eric Bieniemy.
While many conventional candidates have been named, Robert Griffin III believes Marshawn Lynch should at least get an interview.
Alright…hear me out.
Marshawn Lynch should AT LEAST get a HEAD COACH interview with the Raiders this off-season. Lean into the Raider way, team becomes feared with his style and mentality. Load up his staff with experience and proven coordinators. Who says no? @MoneyLynch https://t.co/X1xlhv7BMg— Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) November 1, 2023
According to Griffin, Lynch is a perfect embodiment of the Raiders culture and would be a great fit within the organization.
Griffin recognizes that Lynch is not a perfect candidate given the lack of experience as an NFL coach.
Lynch would need to add coordinators with experience to help him along the way if he wanted any chance of succeeding.
However, Griffin believes that his understanding of what it takes to be an NFL athlete could benefit the Raiders, who are undergoing a lot of organizational changes.
Motivation can go a long way in assisting team morale.
This has been evidenced by Deion Sanders’ presence at the University of Colorado.
He does have some head coaching experience, but because of his personality and winning mentality, his players are more than happy to run through a wall for Coach Prime.
The same could be said about Lynch as a head coach, which is what Griffin is seemingly trying to say.
The Raiders have several weeks to figure out what they want to do for their head coach, so they have plenty of time to entertain Griffin’s suggestion.
