The title of the NFL’s best team comes with a lot of pressure.
Many believed the Kansas City Chiefs were the NFL’s best team throughout last season, which resulted in a Super Bowl victory.
Patrick Mahomes won another league MVP award, a driving force behind that success.
While Mahomes and the Chiefs are still dominant, Robert Griffin III does not see them as the league’s top team.
As he recently stated in a tweet, he believes the Buffalo Bills are currently the best team in the NFL.
The Buffalo Bills came into today ready to make a statement. The statement is THE BILLS ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFL RIGHT NOW.
— Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) October 1, 2023
One week removed from the Miami Dolphins dismantling the Denver Broncos, the Bills performed a romp of their own.
Allen put together a massive week, throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns.
He also rushed for a touchdown during the Bills’ 48-20 victory.
Given the strength of Allen and the Bills’ offense paired with their elite defense, this could be a team to watch, as Griffin highlights.
While Allen has played well during his tenure as the Bills’ starting quarterback, this hasn’t yet materialized into a deep playoff run.
They have been unable to make the Super Bowl during his era largely due to the dominance of the Chiefs.
Will 2023 be the year that this changes?
The Bills’ schedule over the next few weeks could either confirm Griffin’s statements or potentially expose any weaknesses.
They are heading across the pond to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, then will play the New York Giants, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
If 2023 is the Bills’ year, they’ll have to get through these four games unscathed, knowing how crucial the first-round bye is in the playoffs.
