It takes a lot to find success in the NFL.
Of course, some of the traits are obvious.
You need to be big, strong, athletic, and be in top-notch shape.
However, the game also demands thorough study and preparation.
Needless to say, a handful of players have been able to work their way around that.
That includes New England Patriots legend Matt Light.
Recently, he admitted to Julian Edelman that he used to fall asleep during team meetings with Bill Belichick.
It reached a point where his wife and even his offensive line coach thought he was going to get cut because of that (via Games with Names).

Coach Belichick isn’t particularly a patient or loving person, and he has a zero-tolerance policy in the workplace.
His coach even fed Light some of the answers when Belichick asked Light about the coverages they were supposed to go through during the meetings.
At the end of the day, things worked out pretty well for Light, but less talented or physically gifted players may not have been as lucky.
Also, people can talk about Bill Belichick and his military-like system all they want, but it clearly worked out perfectly for him and the organization, at least more often than not.
Under his tutelage, the Patriots were the team to beat in the AFC for two decades straight, and he should still be considered one of the greatest coaches this game has ever seen, even if his meetings weren’t particularly entertaining or amusing.
