The Cincinnati Bengals didn’t make the playoffs last season.
That was far from a surprise, as they didn’t have their best player on the field.
Joe Burrow was out with a wrist injury, and while they were stacked on both sides of the gridiron, not having your star quarterback is obviously a major issue.
That’s why, even though some key pieces have left and the AFC North is the toughest division in the game, they will always stand a chance for as long as he’s out there.
At least, that’s how former NFL star Plaxico Burress feels.
“As long as Joe Burrow is under center, the Bengals have a chance to get to the Super Bowl.”

Talking on “The Carton Show,” he agreed with the notion that Bengals fans should feel encouraged about the season regardless of how things went down in the offseason.
He thinks they’ll always be Super Bowl contenders with a healthy Burrow.
When healthy, Burrow has made a case for being the 1B to Patrick Mahomes’ 1A.
Worst case-scenario, he’s a top-five quarterback in the game, and that’s often enough to be a Super Bowl contender.
He led the team to the last game of the season in his first full campaign as a starter, and while they haven’t been able to replicate that success in the past couple of years, he’s proven to be a special kind of talent.
Of course, he still needs to prove that he can stay healthy for a full season, and that has been the biggest knock on him in his limited time in the league thus far.
