After the Kansas City Chiefs successfully defended their title against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, all eyes turned toward the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
NFL draft season is one of the most exciting offseason times as analysts and fans get to take deeper dives into the league’s next wave of prospects.
The 2024 class features a deep pool of receivers and offensive linemen, though the intrigue lies at the top of the draft as there are multiple franchise-altering quarterbacks up for grabs.
USC’s Caleb Williams is generally considered the best signal caller in his class, though some will argue for LSU’s Jayden Daniels who is coming off a Heisman season.
However, UNC’s Drake Maye has his fair share of supporters as he’s got prototypical size and arm talent to change the fortunes of the team lucky enough to draft him.
Tim Hasselbeck loves Maye’s game and made a bold claim ahead of the draft via ACC Network.
“Drake Maye is the best quarterback in this class,” Hasselbeck said.

Williams has a knack for making plays out of structure and is the most creative when it comes to throwing the football, but from a talent standpoint Maye’s in the same tier.
The UNC quarterback can make every throw in the book and has the size and athleticism to make plays out of the pocket when needed.
Most mock drafts have Maye going second to the Washington Commanders, though he could possibly be taken first overall if the Chicago Bears trade out of the top spot.
