The Dallas Cowboys have been largely impressive to start the 2023 NFL season, except for their Week 3 collapse.
After a wake-up call against the Arizona Cardinals, they were back on track following a dominating 38-3 win against the New England Patriots.
But while they look impressive at 3-1, a tough challenge awaits as they face the San Francisco 49ers on the road.
This pressure-packed game early in the season will be a test of their character.
However, FS1’s James Jones said that the burden doesn’t solely rests on Dak Prescott’s shoulders.
Specifically, Jones also holds Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy responsible for this game’s outcome.
“No, all the pressure is not on Dak. I put the pressure on this whole team. They all gotta get over the hump, not just Dak, right? The pressure is on coach Mike McCarthy. You didn’t take over the play-calling to beat Daniel Jones and the Giants. You didn’t take over the play-calling to beat Mac Jones, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots. You took over the play-calling for games like this,” Jones said in a recent episode of “Speak.”

The 49ers have been the Cowboys’ nemesis over the last two seasons.
They were the team that eliminated them from the 2021 and 2022 NFC playoffs.
Despite enjoying home-field advantage, San Francisco edged Dallas in the 2021 Wild Card round.
A year later, the same result occurred in the Divisional round.
The Cowboys must sustain the pace and tenacity they currently have to score a victory over their rivals.
Otherwise, another painful defeat against a team they couldn’t figure out could shatter the Cowboys’ confidence moving forward.
