The Tampa Bay Buccaneers desperately need to reach an agreement with Mike Evans.
He’s quietly made a case for being one of the greatest players in franchise history, and he’s still one of the best and most reliable weapons in the game.
He proved that by piling up 143 receiving yards against the Tennessee Titans in a game in which he also moved into a tie for 16th place in NFL history in touchdown receptions (87).
His sixth TD grab of the campaign was a tough one, a 22-yard reception in which he fought his way to the end zone with three Titans trying to tackle him.
That’s why former NFL star Darius Butler took to Twitter to give him his flowers and state that Evans should get the Larry Fitzgerald treatment in Tampa Bay and just get a lifetime deal with the organization.
Said it before but I’ll say it again Mike Evans deserves the Larry Fitzgerald AZ treatment down there in Tampa. Just give em a lifetime contract. Should never be a dispute w/ 13! https://t.co/JdOkjBrT0i

Fitzgerald was a perennial presence in the Arizona Cardinals’ locker room, and while Evans could definitely be worth that same treatment, his future with the organization is in question after failing to secure a contract extension in the offseason and giving the team an ultimatum.
Even so, he’s continued to prove that he’s by far their best weapon, and the team shouldn’t even blink about paying him what he’s earned once the time comes.
Evans is one of the strongest wideouts in the game, a perennial physical mismatch who has made every single one of their QBs look good, and a future Hall of Famer.
