It’s never easy to strike gold in the NFL Draft, let alone at the quarterback position.
The Houston Texans, however, did.
C.J. Stroud was dominant right out of the gate, replicating his success at Ohio State in the pros and putting up big numbers left and right in his first campaign in the league.
Not only was he the best offensive rookie and rookie quarterback in the game, but he was also one of the best quarterbacks overall.
If it wasn’t for injury, he could’ve finished the season on the MVP podium, and he had arguably the greatest campaign for a rookie quarterback this game has ever seen.
That’s why NFL analyst Damien Woody wouldn’t be shocked to see him be a top-five quarterback in the game just next season.

Talking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Woody claimed that the Texans are for real, praising them for the additions they made, and agreeing with their vision of giving Stroud all the weapons he needs.
We have more talent at the quarterback position than ever before in NFL history.
Still, being a top-five quarterback in today’s game might not be out of the question for Stroud.
We already know that Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson will be up there, and a healthy Joe Burrow is always a major threat.
Other than that, Josh Allen will need to prove himself without weapons, Jalen Hurts needs to bounce back, and Tua Tagovailoa, Dak Prescott, and Justin Herbert must show that they can beat good teams, so the table is definitely set for Stroud.
