The Aaron Rodgers saga in New York got off to a bad start when he tore his Achilles in Week 1 and effectively ended the New York Jets’ season before it really even began.
Things have gotten a bit worse, though, as the Jets season looked more and more horrific and Rodgers’ off-field comments about ABC talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has spurred vitriol from fans and pundits alike.
These frustrations with Rodgers’ on and off-field antics aren’t that surprising to former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings, who played with Rodgers for seven seasons in Green Bay.
He recounted a story on FS1’s “First Things First” about how Rodgers told the San Francisco 49ers during a game that they should sign Jennings during the offseason.
“When you listen to Aaron Rodgers, he has it figured out for everyone but himself. Because he believes he’s figured it out for himself,” Jennings said.
“When you listen to Aaron Rodgers, he has it figured out for everyone but himself. … You find out who a person is when they show you who they are.”

Rodgers’ behavior toward Jennings shaped the former NFL wideout’s view of Rodgers from then on, and he’s seeing a bit of that spill out during his time in New York.
The quarterback recently said that the team needs to cut out everything that isn’t helping the team win – such as off-field distractions – despite being the one who’s causing most of the distractions.
The Jets will get another crack with Rodgers under center in 2024, so long as he is actually fully healed from his Achilles injury.
