A lot of sons of NFL legends were selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, as we saw Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison, Jeremiah Trotter, Ed McCaffrey, John Alt, and others all receive the unique honor of watching their sons get drafted just like they did.
Unfortunately, legendary running back Frank Gore did not get to experience that same beautiful moment, as his son Frank Gore Jr. went undrafted.
Gore Jr. later got the call from the Buffalo Bills to sign with them in undrafted free agency, saying that “It was relieving. Knowing that my dad wanted me here, I wanted to be here.”

Gore Jr. saw 20 running backs selected and said “I feel like there’s no way 257 people [were] better than me in this draft, but now that that process is over, I’m a Bill. I’m here to compete and I’m here to push my teammates and push the running back room and try to get on special teams.”
He pointed out he has added motivation from not being drafted, and it’s a great sign that he brought up special teams as well as he has his mind set on finding a way to make this roster.
Buffalo’s running back room has a lot of uncertainty in it behind James Cook, as Ray Davis was drafted in the 4th round, and aside from that, you have veteran journeymen Ty Johnson and Darrynton Evans as depth pieces.
There’s plenty of room for Gore Jr. to stand out and sneak onto this roster if he can impress some people this offseason.
