The San Francisco 49ers currently look like the best team in the league.
Their defense has been stellar for quite a while now, and adding Chase Young only made them stronger.
However, their offense has been on a roll since the start of the season, and while their elite personnel has had a lot to do with that, Brock Purdy’s play is also a major factor.
That’s why Niners TE George Kittle wanted to put an end to the “system quarterback” narrative and explained why Purdy is a rightful and deserving MVP candidate (via Yahoo Sports).

Kittle explained that as much as they have a great team, their offense has never looked better in his career, and that’s thanks to how efficient Purdy has been.
He believes the former Mr. Irrelevant is maximizing all of their assets, and he should know, as he was also there with different quarterbacks like Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance.
Whether Purdy is an elite quarterback or not could be up for debate, but the reality is that he’s beaten three different quarterbacks for the starting job, and their offense has never marched this smoothly, with or without Christian McCaffrey or Deebo Samuel.
At the end of the day, there’s no reason to criticize a player just because he’s got an elite set of teammates.
Purdy has earned the trust and respect of some of the most prominent names in the game, and chances are they know how a system quarterback looks when they see one.
