The New York Giants will most likely have their starting quarterback back on the field for the start of training camp.
Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending injury and struggled to be on the field last season, and he wasn’t very good when he was out there.
That’s why there has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of the position in the Big Apple, with some thinking the team should trade up to land Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Nonetheless, it seems like that’s not the case right now.
Talking at the NFL Scout Combine, GM Joe Schoen made it loud and clear that he still has faith in Jones as their starting quarterback (Via Giants Videos).
“I have faith in Daniel [Jones] as our starting quarterback,” Schoen said.

He revealed that Jones has already started throwing, albeit stationary, as he’s still not at a point where he can move around.
Still, there have been no setbacks in his recovery, so he’s fully expected to be back to full strength by the start of the season if things continue to go this way.
Of course, GMs rarely tip their hands, especially with the NFL Draft just around the corner, so perhaps they will still consider making a move to get better at the position in the future.
Brian Daboll didn’t seem to be too thrilled with Jones at times last season, and with the Giants’ offense looking significantly better and more efficient without him, this team should explore all their options at the most crucial position in the game.
