The New York Giants are coming off a dispiriting loss to the San Francisco 49ers and things don’t get much easier for them as they draw another NFC West opponent in the Seattle Seahawks for Week 4.
The Giants seem to have taken a step back from last season as they are clearly searching for a spark on both sides of the ball.
Offensively, New York has largely been disappointing as Daniel Jones can’t seem to find a groove throwing the football while premier offseason acquisition Darren Waller has failed to make the impact the team was hoping for.
Outside of the receiving options, the Giants’ run game has been in shambles since Saquon Barkley suffered an ankle injury in Week 2.
Barkley looked to seriously hurt his ankle in the comeback win over the Arizona Cardinals, but he and New York breathed a sigh of relief when it was deemed a sprain that would only force him to miss a few weeks.
Unfortunately, though, Barkley doesn’t appear like he’ll be able to suit up against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football via Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Without Barkley, Matt Breida is expected to start again with Gary Brightwell spelling him.
Breida and Brightwell were unimpressive against the 49ers as they combined for eight carries for 22 yards though Breida did manage to get into the end zone.
Barkley is the heart and soul of this offense as he can do just about anything on the field, so until he returns it’s hard to feel optimistic about the Giants being able to move the football efficiently.
