Tiger Woods is back, and Brandel Chamblee believes golf fans should pay close attention. The 15-time major champion is set to make his long-awaited return to the PGA Tour at the Genesis Invitational, marking his first official event since the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon.
But is Woods still capable of competing at the highest level? Chamblee thinks so—and he sees something in Tiger’s swing that reminds him of the 2019 Masters-winning version of Woods.
Chamblee: “His Swing Is the Best I’ve Seen in Years”
Chamblee, known for his often-controversial takes, wasn’t holding back this time—he’s genuinely excited about Woods’ return.
“The last couple of years, when he’s come out, he hasn’t had the speed or stamina or looked like he’s been able to walk around the golf course,” Chamblee told The Golfing Gazette.
But after watching Woods in TGL, the analyst saw something different.
“Just from a swing aspect, watching him on TGL, I was really encouraged,” Chamblee continued. “That golf swing right there was as good as I’ve seen since he won the Masters in 2019.”
What’s Different About Tiger This Time?
While Woods hasn’t played a PGA Tour event in months, he has been active—especially as one of the co-creators of TGL. His matches in the new league drew attention, though the league itself hasn’t quite taken off in the ratings.
Still, Chamblee believes the signs are there that Woods could be better prepared than he has been in recent comebacks.
“Hopefully, the weather is okay and it’s not too cold. He needs a lot of things to fall in his favor,” he added.
Translation? Woods’ health remains the biggest question mark. His swing looks good, but will his body hold up over four grueling rounds?
A Comeback Worth Watching
Tiger Woods remains golf’s biggest draw, even at 48 years old. Whether he can seriously contend remains to be seen, but just having him back on the course is enough to send anticipation sky-high.
And with Chamblee’s endorsement, the golf world has one more reason to believe that Tiger might just have another chapter left in him.
Woods Spotted Golfing With Trump
While he hasn’t made an official public appearance yet, Woods was spotted playing a round with former U.S. President Donald Trump, sparking further speculation about his form and fitness ahead of the Genesis Invitational.
Can Tiger Turn Back Time?
We’ve learned never to doubt Tiger Woods. If his swing truly is as sharp as Chamblee believes, could we be witnessing the start of one last unbelievable comeback story?
The Genesis Invitational will tell us everything. And the entire sports world will be watching.
