Adam Sandler’s anticipated sequel to the 1996 classic, “Happy Gilmore 2,” has just released a star-studded trailer, eliciting a humorous response from golf champion Brooks Koepka. Notably, the teaser features several professional golfers, to which Koepka, a five-time major winner, reacted with: “Bout time we got some real golfers on tour.”
The nearly two-minute-long preview offers glimpses of golf luminaries such as Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau, and even John Daly. This star-studded presence of actual professionals in the movie is a testament to the high anticipation for the film’s Netflix debut on July 25.
Among the others spotlighted in the teaser, viewers will recognize the original antagonist, Shooter McGavin, brought to life once again by Christopher McDonald. Puerto Rican rap icon Bad Bunny also appears, adding to the film’s extensive lineup of star cameos. However, conspicuously absent from the trailer is Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce, despite ongoing rumors about his involvement in the movie.
“Happy Gilmore 2” is teeming with star power, and fans can likely expect additional cameo announcements as the release date approaches. The sequel, co-written and co-produced by Sandler, boasts a guest appearance roster that reportedly includes Keegan Bradley, Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, Jack Nicklaus, Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Paige Spiranac, Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, and Lee Trevino.
Outside the world of Hollywood, Brooks Koepka is making waves on the green during the 2025 LIV Golf season. Following a second-place finish at the Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore, where he was surpassed by tournament winner Joaquin Niemann, Koepka is proving his mettle. This second-place finish marks his second top-10 finish this season, having secured a T-7 at the LIV Golf Adelaide in February.
In addition to these accolades, Koepka’s other LIV Golf starts include a T-33 in Riyadh in February and a T-35 in Hong Kong earlier this month. His team, Smash GC, which includes Talor Gooch, Jason Kokrak, and Graeme McDowell, currently ranks eighth in the standings with a collective score of -10.
As the world awaits the release of “Happy Gilmore 2” and Koepka continues to impress on the golf course, it’s clear that both the golf and film worlds offer plenty of excitement for fans.
