Mimi Rhodes Dominates the Greens Once Again!
English golfer Mimi Rhodes continues her winning streak as she secures her second consecutive victory on the Ladies European Tour at the Joburg Ladies Open in Johannesburg, South Africa. Rhodes triumphed on the Modderfontein Golf Club course, narrowly edging out local player Casandra Alexander to claim the top spot.
In a thrilling final round, Rhodes displayed her skill and determination, finishing with a total of 205 shots (-14) after three consistent rounds of 65, 69, and 71. The 23-year-old proette from Taunton has been making waves since turning pro in 2024, and her recent success marks her second win in just five tour events.
The talented golfer initially took the lead in the opening round and maintained her position throughout the tournament, ultimately clinching victory with a final round score of 71 (-2). Rhodes’ stellar performance earned her a prize of 45,000 euros from the total purse of 300,000 euros.
Behind Rhodes, German player Helen Briem secured third place with a total score of 208 (-11), followed closely by Irish golfer Lauren Walsk and Swedish player Kajsa Arwefjall in fourth place with 209 (-10). The competition was fierce, with players like South Africa’s Kiera Floyd and Swiss player Chiara Tamburlini also putting up strong performances.
Rhodes’ fellow Italians, Anna Zanusso, Alessandra Fanali, and Alessia Nobilio, also showcased their talent during the tournament, with Zanusso climbing ten positions to finish 17th, Fanali moving up to 28th place, and Nobilio securing the 54th spot.
As the tour moves forward, all eyes are on the upcoming Investec SA Women’s Open at the Erinvale Country & Golf Estate in Cape Town, where the golfing world eagerly anticipates another thrilling display of skill and sportsmanship from the talented athletes.
