Once again, the world-renowned Serapong at Sentosa, twice hailed as the best golf course globally in 2023 and Asia, is ready to play host to the LIV Golf tournament. With a history of thrilling showdowns, such as Talor Gooch’s nail-biting playoff victory over Sergio Garcia in its inaugural event of 2023 and Brooks Koepka’s remarkable triumph last year, the Singapore venue has proven itself a favorite among players. Koepka himself has gone on record to call it the “best course we play”.
As the Saudi-backed breakaway league gears up for its fourth tournament of the 2025 season, the stakes are incredibly high. The LIV Golf Singapore 2025 promises a prize purse that can only be described as enormous, keeping up with the league’s tradition of offering staggering prize money. Following this leg, LIV Golf will take a breather for three weeks before resuming the action at Trump Doral in Miami, conveniently scheduled a week before The Masters.
The Singapore tournament, renowned for its high stakes, offers a total of $25 million in prize money. The individual competition accounts for $20 million of this total, while the team event contributes the remaining $5 million. The winner of the individual competition gets the lion’s share of nearly 16% of the entire purse, a whopping $4 million.
The spoils are not meager for the runner-up and third place either, with them pocketing $2.25 million and $1.5 million, respectively. Even the player who finishes 48th stands to earn $107,500, a sum larger than what many golfers earn in traditional tours. It’s worth noting that the winner’s payout alone surpasses the entire purse of many regular PGA Tour events.
The team competition is no less rewarding. The winning team divides an impressive $3 million amongst themselves, the second-place team splits $1.5 million, and the team that finishes third gets to share $500,000.
As the stage is set for the action to unfold, let’s turn our attention to the players vying for the top spot. Jon Rahm, despite not having won in the 2025 LIV season, is a top betting pick with odds ranging from +600 to +700. The Spanish star was the leader of the LIV standings in 2024 and currently holds the second position this season. Joaquin Niemann, who has already tasted victory this season and finished second overall last year, is another formidable contender with odds between +800 and +900.
Last year’s champion, Brooks Koepka, despite a less than stellar performance in 2025, cannot be sidelined. His familiarity with the course, given his victory over Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman last year, gives him a significant advantage. Other noteworthy contenders include Sergio Garcia, fresh from his victory in Hong Kong, and Tyrrell Hatton, the winner of the Dubai Desert Classic in January 2025.
The rigorous stretch known as the “Dragon’s Tail” from holes three to seven at Sentosa has always been a litmus test, separating the best from the rest. As the event draws closer, the question on everyone’s mind is whether Koepka will repeat his victory or if a new champion will rise to claim the enormous prize and glory at this premier Asian course.
