When Joe Burrow fell to a season-ending injury, it felt like the nail in the coffin for the Cincinnati Bengals’ season.
Burrow is considered one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks and a primary catalyst for the Bengals’ recent success.
However, despite not having any tangible NFL experience, Jake Browning has stepped up in a big way.
The Bengals have won back-to-back games and are well within the playoff race.
As analyst Benjamin Solak recently highlighted, Browning has done more than keep the Bengals in games.

Browning is currently second in EPA among quarterbacks across the league.
EPA stands for expected points added, and Browning’s metric of .369 is considered an elite mark.
This is an advanced statistic that not many fans might be aware of.
It effectively means that Browning has done more helping than hindering the Bengals thus far, an encouraging metric moving forward.
Now that Browning has taken over as their quarterback and is familiarized with their offense, the Bengals can confidently look toward the rest of the season.
Their next four games will prove a tough test, given that these opponents would all be in the playoffs if the postseason started today.
If the Bengals figure out a way to win at least three of these games, they will be in a great position to make the playoffs.
If not, this team might fall short, looking to the offseason to try and solve some of the team’s woes.
For now, the fanbase seems excited about what Browning has done and what he can hopefully continue to do for the remainder of the year.
