The Los Angeles Dodgers made yet another major move in the free-agent market in the last few hours, landing outfielder Teoscar Hernandez on a one-year, $23.5 million contract.
The Dodgers, so far, have traded for Tyler Glasnow, signed Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and now signed a top power hitter to a short-term deal.
They are having an impressive offseason and the additions haven’t stopped.
There was talk of Hernandez getting a multi-year deal this offseason, but he instead settled for an expensive one-year pact to re-enter the free agency pool next year.
He has been averaging almost 28 home runs per year in the last three seasons and will likely serve as the Dodgers’ starting left fielder.
The Dodgers lineup is looking like a nightmare for pitchers, from top to bottom.
Talkin’ Baseball posted a projected lineup for 2024 as of Monday afternoon.

Let’s start by saying that it features three former MVP award winners: Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Shohei Ohtani.
Will Smith is one of the best offensive catchers in baseball and Max Muncy has been an MVP candidate in the past.
Then you have Hernandez, a slam dunk for 25 home runs, and 2023 rookie sensation James Outman.
Jason Heyward, who revived his career in 2023, would be eighth in the order, and the promising Gavin Lux (a top prospect just a couple of years ago) would be ninth.
Pitchers won’t be afforded too much room for error with that kind of talent in the batting order.
Having also signed Glasnow and Yamamoto, it’s hard to see this unit not winning the NL West.
