The NFL is in for a massive shakeup ahead of the 2024 season.
For the first time in over twenty years, Bill Belichick will not be the head coach of the New England Patriots, signaling a new era for the team.
Belichick was not only the coach of the Patriots, but he has also been a mentor to many young coaches throughout the years.
This was made evident by Matt Rhule’s recent press conference that was shared by Albert Breer.
Rhule indicated that Belichick still has a lot to offer, as he recanted their time together in a recent coaching clinic.
“He is so smart and has seen so much that he can make the complex so simple,” Rhule said.
Breer added his own commentary to Rhule’s press conference, indicating, “It’s really a poor reflection on NFL owners that there were seven openings this year, Bill Belichick wanted to work, and couldn’t find a job.”

It appears that Rhule and Breer are upset with the fact that Belichick still doesn’t have a job in the NFL.
He is no longer on the Patriots’ staff, and while he was up for a few head coaching gigs, he didn’t ultimately land any of those positions.
Perhaps teams wanted to go with someone younger and with new ideas rather than someone like Belichick, who has been in the league for a long time.
Belichick might not have a job in the NFL at the moment, but if a team has a need during the season, he might get a call after all.
