The San Francisco 49ers have continued to establish themselves as a top team in the NFC.
Despite recent struggles, the 49ers have one of the league’s most potent defenses, which is paired with an offense filled with elite talents.
One of their best playmakers is Deebo Samuel.
Brian Baldinger broke down Samuel’s on-field impact in a recent segment with Audacy Sports.
“He invites contact and then makes you pay for the contact,” Baldinger said.
“He invites contact and then he makes you pay for the contact. I just think he gives that whole team some toughness. We all get excited when we see him in the open field.”@BaldyNFL on the Deebo Samuel effect #FTTB

Baldinger also added, “We all get excited when we see him in the open field.”
Samuel has developed into a multi-tool player that has wreaked havoc on opposing defenses, as Baldinger mentions.
Last season, several pundits across the league called him a “wide back,” indicating he was a wide receiver/running back hybrid.
While this received mixed reviews from Samuel during the offseason, when his contract was extended, any frustration seemed to go away.
Samuel can slice and dice through a defense with his back-breaking speed along with elite hands and route running.
Baldinger believes he is an incredibly valuable asset for this 49ers roster, a team that is poised to make a deep playoff run.
Brock Purdy has had a roller coaster of a year, which has at times, irritated Samuel and his teammates.
The 49ers had a three-game losing streak, a time when Purdy didn’t look like himself, throwing uncharacteristic interceptions.
When he is playing his best football, players like Samuel and Christian McCaffrey can greatly benefit, showing off their skills in a big way.
