The Atlanta Falcons appear to have narrowed their head coaching search to Bill Belichick.
The former New England Patriots head coach has interviewed a few times with the Falcons and all reports indicate he could take over for the 2024 season.
So while the paperwork gets written up, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the team flew Belichick to Atlanta in team owner Arthur Blank’s private plane, they had dinner, and more meetings are still to come before any official announcement is to be made.
The Atlanta Falcons have Bill Belichick as their top candidate, flying him into Atlanta on one of Arthur Blank’s private planes last night.

Belichick going with the Falcons would be a huge deal for the balance of power in the NFC South and the rest of the conference.
The Falcons looked like a team on the rise under Arthur Smith in 2023 but couldn’t string enough wins together to take the division and make the playoffs.
Atlanta’s big issue is at quarterback where there’s no clear plan and the team likely won’t be in a position to draft a quarterback without trading up from the No. 9 pick.
They team already has wide receiver Drake London, tight end Kyle Pitts, and running back Bijan Robinson but needs someone who can come in an start immediately under center.
Belichick turned the Patriots into one of the biggest dynasties in sports almost overnight thanks to a top-flight defense and quarterback Tom Brady, and Atlanta appears to think he could do the same with the Falcons once they lock down a quarterback.
With Belichick in tow, this could be a wild offseason for the future of the Falcons.
