After making a surprising run to the divisional round of the 2022 playoffs, the Jacksonville Jaguars currently seem to be on track to earning a second-straight appearance in the postseason.
Heading into a Week 8 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Jaguars have a 5-2 record, and dating back to the 2022 regular season, Jacksonville has won 10 of their last 12 games.
If the Jaguars are going to improve their record to 6-2 with a victory over the Steelers on Sunday, they’re going to need a solid performance from quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
It doesn’t sound like Lawrence is going to be 100 percent healthy against a talented Pittsburgh defense due to a knee injury, but according to NFL Media’s James Palmer on Sunday, the young Jacksonville signal-caller’s injury isn’t expected to prevent him from suiting up for the contest against the Steelers.
#jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is officially questionable (knee) to play but is expected to go vs the #steelers. Lawrence will wear the brace he wore last Thursday vs the Saints. He feels better this week, but this isn’t something that is going to improve overnight and will take…

Lawrence is in the middle of his third season with the Jaguars, and so far this year, he has continued his development into becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.
In seven games this season, the Jacksonville signal-caller has completed 67.4 percent of his passes for 1,643 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions, which has amounted to a 92.8 passer rating.
At 5-2, Lawrence and the Jaguars are currently only one game behind the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which currently belongs to the 6-1 Kansas City Chiefs.
So in order to keep pace with the Chiefs and keep hope alive for capturing the top seed in the AFC playoffs this season, Jacksonville needs a victory over the Steelers on Sunday.
Will the Jaguars end up getting another win, or will Pittsburgh take advantage of a hobbled Lawrence?
