Not so long ago, the New York Giants signed Daniel Jones to a very lucrative contract.
The Duke product was coming off a career year and seemed poised for a breakout.
That wasn’t the case last season, as he struggled with inconsistency and injuries and raised some doubt about his future with the organization.
There have been plenty of rumors about the Giants looking to go in a different direction and even looking to get a quarterback in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft.
Talking on the NFL Network, Daniel Jeremiah argued that a team that says to be committed to their quarterback shouldn’t be doing that much diligence on other players at the same position, making a case for them to go after Malik Nabers or Rome Udonze instead (via Doug Rush).
“For a team that has said they are committed to Daniel Jones at quarterback, the Giants sure are doing a lot of homework on these quarterbacks for a team that says they are committed to the current one,” Jeremiah said.

Mel Kiper Jr. believes the Giants should give their current quarterback a hand by getting him a legitimate weapon in the passing game, adding that they could also go after, say, Bo Nix early in the second round if they want to get an insurance policy behind Jones.
The Giants will still be stuck with Jones for at least another season before they can get out of his four-year contract, and while it does make sense that they have second thoughts about his future with the organization, he should also get the benefit of the doubt.
