Last season was a disaster for the Denver Broncos, as they went 5-12 and had a horrible offense despite the acquisition of future Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson.
So far, this season is shaping up to be as ugly as last season, although the reasons are different.
While Wilson played poorly last year, he has been much better so far in 2023, but this time it’s their defense that has been their main problem.
Per Dov Kleiman, insider James Palmer says players are anticipating a “tear down” and possibly multiple trades.

When Denver landed Wilson prior to the 2022 season, many expected them to instantly become Super Bowl contenders.
However, it is now clear that their roster simply hasn’t been strong enough this season or last to rise to that upper echelon.
While Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton are solid wide receivers, they do not have that one game-changing playmaker who can single-handedly change the outcome of a game.
Even worse, Denver’s running game has been weak, and they have given up at least 28 points in each of their last four games and over 30 points in three of their last four contests.
Most notably, they surrendered a historically embarrassing 70 points to the Miami Dolphins in Week 3.
Trade rumors have been swirling around the Broncos lately, especially concerning star cornerback Patrick Surtain II and even Wilson himself.
They gave up lots of draft capital to get Wilson in the first place, and now some are second-guessing that trade and starting to consider it a mistake.
