Despite only starting one game this season, rookie running back De’Von Achane is off to a blazing-fast start in his first year as a member of the Miami Dolphins.
Achane exploded for 203 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the Dolphins’ Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos, and he’s averaged 12.4 yards per touch in the two games since.
Unfortunately for the promising rookie running back, he suffered a knee injury during Miami’s 31-16 win over the New York Giants last week, and the Dolphins recently decided to place him on injured reserve.
Achane’s move to injured reserve will prevent him from playing in Miami’s next four games, but a recent report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicates that he likely won’t be out of action for more than four contests.

The news of Achane’s injury was certainly a letdown for the Dolphins’ fan base, but knowing that he should be able to recover sooner than later should provide everyone with a good amount of optimism,
The rookie running back will be eligible to return to the field for Miami when the team takes on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 11.
Luckily for the Dolphins, they still have plenty of offensive firepower to utilize during Achane’s absence.
Miami should still be able to put up plenty of points during the next few weeks with guys like quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, and running back Raheem Mostert leading the charge.
The Dolphins will be looking to improve their record to 5-1 on Sunday when they take on a winless Carolina Panthers team.
