The New York Mets are not a team many are expecting to compete for a World Series this year.
Last season was a disaster in New York as the Mets finished 75-87 and in fourth place in the NL East.
But, like most teams, hopes are high in spring training that they can rebound this year.
One player who has made his impact felt as a Met is shortstop Francisco Lindor.
He has been productive over the past two seasons and is one of the consistent bright spots on their team.
This spring, Lindor is doing something very cool.
According to Anthony DiComo, Lindor hosted a clinic for 50 children from two local little leagues and a Boys and Girls Club.
Francisco Lindor hosted a clinic today for 50 children from two area Little Leagues, as well as a local Boys and Girls Club. The goal was to teach them baseball fundamentals while inspiring them to have fun and exemplify sportsmanship.

Lindor did this to try and teach kids the game of baseball and sportsmanship.
This was an awesome gesture by Lindor, who did this while getting ready for the season.
Any time players take to help the younger generation is always a positive.
Lindor has been embraced by the people of New York and reasons like this are why he is a fan favorite.
For the Mets to be a playoff team this season they need Lindor to be at his best.
He should be in for another 30-30 season while also being a great defensive shortstop.
Each season as a Met his stats have improved.
That should once again be the case in 2024.
Lindor is a great player on the field and a great person off of it.
His hosting of this clinic goes to show how he feels about helping future baseball players.
