The Cleveland Browns were thought not to have much of a chance of contending for a Super Bowl title after it became known that star quarterback Deshaun Watson was done for the year with another season-ending injury.
Fortunately, even though Watson won’t play another game until next season, the Browns still have a chance to clinch a playoff spot and potentially make a deep run in the NFL playoffs with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco leading the way for Cleveland.
Flacco has played well since taking over the starting job under center in Cleveland, with the Browns sporting an 8-5 record heading into this Week 15 showdown with the lowly Chicago Bears.
Even though it’ll be tough to catch the division-leading Baltimore Ravens (10-3), Cleveland still has hope to clinch a playoff spot in the AFC, and now the team has an incentivized Flacco leading the way.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Flacco recently signed a one-year deal with Cleveland, which will pay a hefty sum for each win in the last four regular-season games.
Joe Flacco’s new one-year deal with the Browns includes $4.05 million of incentives based on winning, per a source familiar with the deal.
Flacco will make $75,000 for each of the remaining four regular-season games he wins this season.

With Flacco having the right kind of experience in this situation, the one-time Super Bowl champion might be able to do enough under center at his advantaged age to keep this team winning football games moving forward.
Flacco and company will benefit from a relatively easy schedule to finish the regular season, starting with the five-win Bears, followed by the Houston Texans, New York Jets, and Cincinnati Bengals.
If Flacco can get through these games with some wins, he’ll make some money and a chance to win a second Super Bowl title.
