When it rains, it pours for the Los Angeles Chargers.
Justin Herbert suffered a fractured index finger during Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see Adam Schefter reporting that he’s already been ruled out of Thursday Night Football’s divisional matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Chargers’ QB Justin Herbert is not expected to play Thursday night vs the Raiders due to his fractured right index finger and he will be consulting with Dr. Steven Shin to determine the extent of the injury and how much time he will miss, per source.

On top of that, the ESPN insider reports that Herbert will consult with Dr. Steven Shin to determine the extent of the injury and how much time he’ll have to miss.
Herbert was replaced by Easton Stick, but neither of them could get anything going against the Broncos’ stout defense.
The Chargers’ offense had regressed vastly over the past month or so, and not having their best player out there is only going to make things worse.
Brandon Staley’s team is sitting on a 5-8 record and the third spot in the AFC West.
They have dates with the Raiders, Buffalo Bills, Broncos, and Kansas City Chiefs to close out the season, so their chances of making the playoffs are difficult.
They should just shut down Herbert for the season at this point and plan ahead for the upcoming NFL Draft.
Nothing has gone the Chargers’ way this season, and Staley’s firing seems more imminent now than ever.
Once again, their once-promising roster underperformed on both sides of the field, especially in close games, and it has become more than evident that something major needs to be done on the coaching staff if they want to fulfill their potential one day.
