Baseball is one sport where many players try to play into their late 30s and early 40s.
We have seen many players continue to play well past their prime.
One position where players try to hang on even longer is starting pitcher.
Johnny Cueto is 37 years old and has been a shell of himself over the past few seasons.
Yet, according to Jon Morosi, Cueto wants to continue pitching in 2024.
Cueto will turn 38 in February but hopes to find a team to sign with this offseason.

To keep himself fresh during the offseason, Cueto is interested in pitching in the Dominican Republic this winter.
Cueto began his MLB career in 2008.
He has been named an All-Star two times and was a World Series champion in 2015 with the Kansas City Royals.
Over the past few seasons, Cueto has changed his style of pitching.
He pitches to contact as he no longer has dominant strikeout stuff.
But, that can still be a valuable way to get hitters out in 2024.
Many teams are desperately looking for starting pitchers and innings eaters.
If Cueto truly wants to pitch again in 2024, he will get the chance.
Cueto is trying to squeeze every last drop out of his baseball career.
He is similar to Zack Greinke, Justin Verlander, and Clayton Kershaw.
All of whom are trying to pitch well past their primes.
It will be interesting to see if any team is willing to give him a chance, as his career resume shows he deserves one.
