From 2015 to 2018, Noah Syndergaard was one of the very best pitchers in MLB.
He was with the New York Mets at the time, and even helped them advance to the 2015 World Series as a rookie.
In 2019, he had a 4.28 ERA in part of the heavy offensive environment due to the “juiced” ball that year, but still managed to strike out 202 hitters.
His career started going downhill in the spring of 2020, when he suffered major ligament damage and required Tommy John surgery.
After a long rehab, he was able to return in late 2021.
He wasn’t the same in 2022, with diminished velocity and, as a consequence, a mediocre strikeout rate.
Still, he had a decent 3.94 ERA.
The wheels fell off in 2023, with a 6.50 ERA in 88.2 innings between two teams.
Still, that hasn’t stopped teams from asking about him in free agency.

Per MLB Deadline News, MLB insider Robert Murray reported that multiple teams are showing interest in “Thor”.
The most worrisome development is that his fastball used to clock in the 98-99 range during his peak, and it’s now closer to 92-93.
Perhaps he can reinvent himself over the offseason, approaching pitching from a different angle.
Another possibility is that he ends up in the bullpen.
It will all depend on many things, including his market, his own motivations and goals, and also his agency and the recommendations of specialists.
In any case, there are still MLB teams interested in the formerly dominant right-hander.
