After acquiring superstar quarterback Russell Wilson in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks, the Denver Broncos were expected to be a Super Bowl title contender in the AFC, as he was thought to be the missing piece to the championship puzzle.
Unfortunately for Denver, Wilson seemed to lose a step or two and no longer appeared to be the dominant player of old, which led to a disappointing end to the 2022 campaign.
Ahead of the 2023 NFL season, the Broncos tried to give Wilson better guidance and leadership on the sideline with the team bringing in veteran head coach Sean Payton, but despite a slight bump in wins and a better chance to clinch a playoff berth, it turned out to be more of the same for Denver.
Before missing the playoffs, Payton and company decided to bench Wilson, which caused quite a stir and may have signaled the end of his time in the Mile High City.
Now the rumors have started swirling about Wilson’s next destination in the NFL, and it appears one of those possible destinations is with the Minnesota Vikings if fellow veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins doesn’t re-sign with the team, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler via Dov Kleiman.
Rumors: The #Vikings are a potential destination for #Broncos QB Russell Wilson, per @JFowlerESPN
“Don’t be surprised if [Russell] Wilson is intrigued by Minnesota, assuming Kirk Cousins doesn’t re-sign with the Vikings (a big if).” https://t.co/qWDhCwJuet pic.twitter.com/UbbQy8Nzus

The Vikings would be an intriguing destination for Wilson, especially considering the talent the team has currently, especially with superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
Wilson might have another chance to resurrect his career in the NFL with a Vikings squad that is trying to figure out how to get the best of the division-rival Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers in the NFC North.
