The Jacksonville Jaguars face a pivotal Week 16 matchup this week on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
It’s a game that could have serious playoff implications for Jacksonville, and one they were at risk of playing without star quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Lawrence suffered a concussion this past week and had been questionable throughout the days leading up to the game.
Fortunately for the Jaguars, he cleared the concussion protocol Saturday in time to suit up against the Buccaneers, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

This is the second time Lawrence has been able to return from a serious injury without missing a game.
He suffered an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals but recovered in time to play the Cleveland Browns.
This time, though, Lawrence suffered a concussion – which is a bit harder to return from in less than a week because of the league’s strict policies.
He returned to practice at the end of the week, but needed a final clearance by Saturday before the team made the inter-state flight to Tampa.
Lawrence’s presence is huge for a Jaguars team in need of a win to maintain its hold on the AFC South.
They’re tied with the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans at 8-6 but have tiebreakers over both teams.
Lawrence has had an inconsistent season this year with a 65.9 completion percentage, 251.8 passing yards per game, 18 touchdown passes, and 10 interceptions.
The Jaguars won seven of eight games in the middle of the season but have lost their past three contests.
This game could alter the team’s end-of-season momentum, but at least they’ll have Lawrence around.
