Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has had himself quite the offseason after winning the Super Bowl in his rookie year, and after numerous run-ins with the law, his immediate future on the field is still up in the air.
The league has been quiet and seems to be letting these situations play themselves out before deciding on any sort of punishment, but one insider recently shared some insight into what that might look like.
Insider James Palmer appeared on “Up & Adams” this morning to discuss the Rice situation and said, “The Chiefs are expecting him to be suspended for a number of games,” while also adding that the team still expects a lot from him this season after a promising rookie year.

Palmer added that the team prioritized getting more explosive at the wide receiver position this offseason by adding Marquise Brown and Xavier Worthy to complement Rice and Travis Kelce, as the additions should help Rice find more openings underneath with Brown and Worthy being able to rip the top off the defense.
Rice has two separate legal issues in the process of being resolved at the moment, most notably the series of felony charges he is currently facing due to the March 30th car accident he allegedly caused.
Rice put up 79 catches for 938 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie last season and gradually emerged as the team’s top wide receiver, but perhaps his legal troubles this offseason exacerbated the need to add to the position in the draft and free agency.
