The Cleveland Browns may be starting to regret a decision they made in the preseason.
The Browns selected Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the fifth round of the NFL Draft.
He was seen as a high-upside player who could develop into a solid starter.
The Browns’ quarterback room heading into the preseason was Deshaun Watson, Josh Dobbs, and Thompson-Robinson.
With how Thompson-Robinson performed in the preseason, the Browns felt confident keeping him as their QB2.
For that reason, they traded Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals.
Ian Rapoport says the Browns think Thompson-Robinson has a future in Cleveland.

To the surprise of everyone, Dobbs has proceeded to have a career year after the trade.
He was successful in Arizona despite the team not winning.
Now, he has been great in his first two games with the Minnesota Vikings.
It is easy to say the Browns miss not having Dobbs, but they were thinking towards the future.
With Watson now out for the rest of the season, Thompson-Robinson will take over as starter.
The Browns will get a great look at their young starter to see what they have.
Hopefully, Thompson-Robinson can recapture some of the success he had during the preseason.
The Browns are still in playoff contention with a 6-3 record but will need solid quarterback play to get them there.
One thing going for the Browns is that they have a great defense.
Their defense will be able to keep them in games until Thompson-Robinson gets going.
But make no mistake about it, the rookie quarterback will have to make some plays for Cleveland to keep winning games.
