After parting ways with one-time Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson, the Denver Broncos had a tough decision to make during the NFL offseason in order to find a replacement for the veteran quarterback under center for the 2024 campaign.
Although the Broncos already had Jarrett Stidham under contract, who is a viable option to replace Wilson as the full-time starter in Denver, Sean Payton and company didn’t seem to be content with that idea.
As a result of not having full confidence in Stidham to lead this team moving forward, the Broncos chose to use the No. 12 overall pick in the recent 2024 NFL Draft on rookie quarterback Bo Nix out of the University of Oregon, who has received comparisons to New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees.
Interestingly enough, even with Nix and Stidham in the fold, the Broncos made an odd trade with the New York Jets to acquire Zach Wilson.
However, Wilson could be making his presence felt in Denver as he’s making an impression while putting in the work alongside Nix and Stidham, according to James Palmer via “Up & Adams.”
Could Sean Payton be the one to revive AND unleash #Broncos QB Zach Wilson’s full potential??

This is an interesting development from Denver, as it was thought that Wilson would be either the second or third quarterback on the Broncos’ depth chart.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Broncos during the offseason and where Wilson might be on the depth chart heading toward Week 1.
