Despite being one of the best teams in the NFL during the 2023 regular season, the Dallas Cowboys fell short in the playoffs.
They lost to a Jordan Love-led Green Bay Packers team, once again ending their season sooner than expected.
This led to a lot of questions about the future of this team and what the Cowboys will do to get back on track.
Many suggested the team get rid of Mike McCarthy, but he appears to be sticking around for another season.
There have also been people to say that Dak Prescott is the problem, and that the team should consider other options.
This suggestion has gotten more traction recently, and it included a surprising comment from Adam Schefter on NFL Live.
As RJ Ochoa pointed out on Twitter, Schefter said, “I think the Dallas Cowboys might just be a sleeper team in the quarterback market during the draft.”
Adam Schefter said during Tuesday’s episode of NFL Live that he thinks the Dallas Cowboys could be a sleeper team to draft a quarterback based on the fact that Dak Prescott is currently set to enter the final year of his contract.

He added, “Dak is going into the last year of the contract, and it might be time to get somebody in there to start grooming him.”
Schefter indicated that this is what the Cowboys did with Prescott in the fourth round of his draft, something they could look to do again.
He didn’t necessarily suggest that the Cowboys should take someone in the first two rounds, but if they can find someone later on, it could be worth a consideration.
If Prescott isn’t in their long-term plans, it could make sense for the Cowboys to take a QB in the draft and give them an opportunity to learn from Prescott.
