With only a few hours left before the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft gets underway in Detroit, Michigan, all the buzz surrounds the talented young quarterbacks in this draft class and where these players might land tonight.
One quarterback who has made a lot of noise as of late is Michael Penix Jr. out of the University of Washington, who was initially expected to be taken late in the first round or potentially fall to the second round.
Now, it seems as though he is skyrocketing up draft boards, with draft experts claiming teams are starting to show significant interest in his services, even though he’s a risky pick due to his injury history.
One team that has been linked to Penix more than most is the Las Vegas Raiders, who could draft a quarterback on Thursday, but Benjamin Allbright doesn’t think the team will bring him in with the No. 13 overall pick.
He might make it to the second round. He might not.I’m just not buying the raiders at thirteen. https://t.co/shPNx4dpje

As of right now, the top quarterback prospects expected to be taken early in the draft are Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy.
Although those are the top prospects, Penix may have done enough to prove that he could knock one of those potential star quarterbacks out of the running for a high pick.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out at the top of the draft, which quarterbacks are taken first, and which ones fall further than expected on Thursday, as there are always one or two quarterbacks who plummet on draft day.
