The Washington Commanders need to make a big splash this offseason.
Hiring Dan Quinn was a step in the right direction, as they were clearly interested in hiring a defensive-minded coach.
Now, however, they need to focus on the other side of the field.
With that in mind, NFL insider Jonathan Jones claims that they could be in the mix to get Kliff Kingsbury to be their next offensive coordinator.
Jones claimed that Kingsbury was a candidate for the OC job even before he agreed to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Kliff Kingsbury had been discussed as a potential Commanders OC target before this latest…whatever with the Raiders. With Washington open with Dan Quinn, something to keep an eye on.

Kingsbury withdrew himself from consideration for the Raiders’ OC job earlier on Saturday, and where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
The former Arizona Cardinals coach is coming off working with Caleb Williams as his quarterbacks coach.
The USC product is expected to become the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, but the Commanders have more than enough draft capital and players to move around to try and trade up.
The Chicago Bears are also expected to be enamored with Williams, but perhaps they could consider moving the pick for the second consecutive year if the right offer appears.
As unlikely as that might be, considering Wiliams is touted as a generational and once-in-a-lifetime kind of talent, we’ve seen crazier things happen in his league.
Whatever the case, it seems like Kliff Kingsbury is drawing way more interest than originally reported, and it shouldn’t take long before we see him back in the league calling plays and working his magic on offense.
