With the Las Vegas Raiders moving on from Josh McDaniels and the Patriot Way, the storied NFL franchise is heading in a different direction, with new head coach Antonio Pierce providing some hope for the future.
As a result of another regime change in Las Vegas, the team has taken on a new approach to the NFL offseason, with Pierce bringing in an aggressive style and a desire to upgrade the defense, which the team did with the addition of defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.
Along with trying to improve the squad defensively and put more talent around star defensive end Maxx Crosby, the Raiders have to address the quarterback position, which is also something they are not wasting time in doing during the offseason.
The team recently agreed to sign Pro Bowl quarterback Gardner Minshew, who will be in contention to start under center right away during the 2024 campaign.
With Minshew in the fold, the Raiders will part ways with veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who is already getting some interest around the league, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

After his complicated stint with the San Francisco 49ers came to an end, Garoppolo was brought in to be Derek Carr’s successor in Las Vegas, which seemed like a good move at the time.
Unfortunately, he played in only seven games for the Raiders before injuries once again got the best of him, and he ultimately lost his job as the starter to rookie quarterback Aidan O’Connell.
Although Garoppolo can’t seem to shake his constant injury issues, he continues to get opportunities, but it remains to be seen if he’ll get another starting gig in the NFL after what transpired in Las Vegas.
