The Philadelphia Eagles are the biggest disappointment of the 2023 NFL season as the former reigning NFC champions were unceremoniously bounced out of the Wild Card Round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers ended a dismal season for the Eagles who looked completely different from the team that started the regular season.
Philadelphia’s flameout raised questions about head coach Nick Sirianni who looked out of his depth trying to coach the team during their spiral.
Sirianni lost multiple members of his coaching staff from last season, and it appears he couldn’t cover for their losses.
While there was speculation that the Eagles would let go of Sirianni, there hasn’t been any movement from ownership.
Nearly a week after being eliminated, it appears that Sirianni’s job is safe and that changes will be coming to the rest of the sidelines instead via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“All signs continue to point to Nick Sirianni returning with the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s now Sunday, they lost Monday, they haven’t done anything, there are expected to be widespread changes on the assistant coaching staff,” Schefter said.

Both the offense and defense were a shell of themselves and a change in coordinators is basically inevitable.
Sirianni seems to be getting at least one more year to prove that he’s the person for the job, but he has to be on thin ice after how this year went.
It will be interesting to see if there are any major changes to the roster as well, but for now fans will have to accept Sirianni as the head coach.
