The Kansas City Chiefs are in trouble right now.
The reigning Super Bowl champions have lost three of their past four games and sit on an 8-5 record, and frustration is starting to mount.
That was evident when Patrick Mahomes burst out at the referees after his team’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, ripping them for several questionable calls that may have cost his team a chance to win a crucial matchup.

Mahomes didn’t mince his words and had to be held back, which is why Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the league will review his conduct and words, as they always look to protect the integrity of the referees.
While Patrick Mahomes’ post-game comments will be reviewed, his on-field yelling aimed at the refs before the game ended and then on-field comments while cameras were rolling and present may be more of an issue. https://t.co/lLCInFjXU6

Needless to say, it is highly unlikely that a superstar like Patrick Mahomes will face any steep penalty for this.
He’s likely going to be fined, and that’s it, especially considering the fact that he’s never been the kind of player who complains about referees or has any sort of outburst on the sidelines.
Whether the referees hurt the Chiefs or not is not for us to debate, and one could also argue that the Chiefs have been on the good end of countless questionable calls throughout the course of the years as well.
But the underlying message here is that things aren’t going well in Kansas City.
Whenever your leader snaps like that, you know that’s not a good sign.
This season has been a test of Mahomes’ patience, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see most of his wide receivers off of the team by the first day of the offseason.
