With the NFL Draft just a couple of days away, every single report, both minor or major, could lead to a significant ripple effect.
That’s why a report by Adam Schefter put the league in a bit of a frenzy.
Talking on “The Pat McAfee Show,” he stated that Jayden Daniels wasn’t excited about the idea of playing for the Washington Commanders, adding that any team with ties to him should trade for him instead.
Of course, that means the Las Vegas Raiders, as HC Antonio Pierce was a part of Arizona State’s recruiting and coaching staff when Daniels was there.
Nonetheless, Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports has different intel.
Apparently, the so-called conflict between Daniels and the Commanders has been “overblown,” and Daniels’ brass has reached out to the team to make sure there are no misunderstandings there (via Carlos Talks Pats on Twitter).
The rumored conflict between Jayden Daniels and the #Commanders is “overblown” and the two parties have spoken to clear up any issues, per @RalphVacchiano.
A source within Washington’s organization says it won’t impact their draft choice.

Also, that report will reportedly have no impact on the Commanders’ decision to get Daniels, and they won’t hesitate to pull the trigger on him if they feel like he’s their guy.
Daniels is one of the most talented dual-threat quarterbacks we’ve seen in years, and given the Commanders’ recent history of struggles, it wouldn’t be hard to understand why a top-notch player might not have them at the top of their list.
Then again, he’s also a young player looking to prove himself, and perhaps trying to handpick his destination wouldn’t be the best look for him as he enters the league.
