New ownership group.
New head coach.
Now, most likely a new quarterback.
The Washington Commanders are currently sitting in the No. 2 draft slot and have a lot of options to choose from in terms of quarterback prospects outside of presumably USC’s Caleb Williams.
According to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio, there is “real drama” surrounding what the Commanders might do with the pick.
“I think there’s real drama…There’s a new ownership group…This is Josh Harris’ first draft…He’s more involved in the football operation than people thought he was going to be…For a lot of these teams, it’s the owner’s decision…There’s talk about the Raiders wanting (Jayden) Daniels and Daniels wanting the Raiders,” Florio told “The Dan Patrick Show” Monday.

Most NFL pundits believe that USC’s Caleb Williams is headed to the Chicago Bears at No. 1.
Then, there is LSU’s Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.
As Florio says in the interview, there may be some ruffled feathers with Daniels and the Commanders after an interesting pre-draft meeting, which included other top-level quarterback prospects.
Other teams are potentially interested in Daniels if the Commanders choose not to take him.
The only way Washington doesn’t take him is if he doesn’t want to play for them.
It is a very intriguing situation and one that not many people know all that much about.
Perhaps the awkward pre-draft visit is being overblown, and Daniels actually loves the Commanders.
Nothing is ever truly set in stone until the draft card is selected and the player’s name is called by Roger Goodell.
