The Jacksonville Jaguars peaked early in the season, and they cannot afford to keep losing games at this point in the campaign.
That’s why they’re going to have to be quite careful from now on, and HC Doug Pederson will have to make a tough decision.
Trevor Lawrence was supposed to practice on Thursday, but Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network recently reported that it wasn’t the case.
He is dealing with a sprain in his right shoulder.

Lawrence has dealt with multiple injuries throughout the course of the season, constantly playing through ailments that would’ve kept most QBs on the sidelines.
Now, however, we’re talking about an injury on his throwing shoulder, which is obviously far more delicate.
With that in mind, coach Pederson will either have to choose between rolling with his QB1 at far less than 100% and without practicing all week or going with backup QB C.J. Beathard.
On paper, the Jaguars shouldn’t find a lot of trouble getting past the Carolina Panthers, but we’ve also seen them struggling mightily over the past month, so it’s not like they’re in a position to overlook any of their opponents.
They could always rely on their running game, regardless of who’s under center, as Travis Etienne has proven to be capable of handling a big workload when given the opportunity.
